11. The Ressurection

 

This is the eleventh stage of the hero's journey. It is also the climax of the story. This is an event which changes the hero in some way and allows him/her to return to the ordinary world. This will be the last dangerous meeting with death. The writer must show how the hero's behaviour has changed. The stakes are high and the danger is broad - maybe the whole world is in danger instead of just the hero. The climax does not have to be dramatic; it may sometimes be a mental change.
