1. The Ordinary World

 

The first stage of the Hero's Journey is the 'Ordinary World." This is where we see the hero at odds in their ordinary life, often being an outcast within their surroundings. This is usually due to the fact that the hero has a specific interest, skill or flaw. We also see the hero longing for more in his life and the hero makes a separation of some sort the hero starts to make from his "Ordinary World."
