9. Reward: Seizing the Sword

 

This is the ninth stage of the Hero's Journey. The hero has cheated death in the ordeal, and now he has seized the sword. The reward can be something physical, knowledge experience or even love. There is a celebration of overcoming the ordeal. The reader/watcher may see the protagonist in a new sense if relaxation.
