6. Tests, Allies, Enemies

 

This is the sixth stage of the Hero's Journey. This is when the hero is challenged, when the hero is out of their comfort zone. Obstacles will appear one after another and the hero finds out who they can trust and who they can't. They discover rivals and form new relationships. These challenges could be mind games or simply just physical obstacles, and every obstacle they face helps us as the (audience) gain a deeper insight into the protagonist. The hero must overcome each challenge and not be swayed from their goal.
